Instead of ten blue links, people increasingly get one answer that names a handful of businesses.
This free check asks an AI assistant four buyer questions about your services, without naming you, and shows you what came back: whether you were recommended, who was, which pages the assistant relied on, and what is worth investigating first. It is a snapshot from one assistant, shown with its evidence, not a ranking.
For each answer we record whether the assistant actually recommended you, only mentioned you, or left you out, with the quote that shows it.
We suggest four buyer questions for your category and area from what your website says. Change any of them before the check runs.
See which businesses were recommended across the same questions, counted the same way, so the comparison is fair.
The pages the assistant cited, labelled as your site, a directory or other, and three next steps that start with how to verify them.
The free check runs on Claude (Anthropic) with live web search through its API, four questions, once. That is a snapshot, not the consumer Claude app and not a market-wide measurement. Our monthly AI visibility service repeats a fixed question set on a schedule and covers the assistants below as well, so you can see a trend rather than a moment.

What it measures, what it does not, and what happens to your report.
You give us your website or business name. We read your site, suggest four questions a buyer would ask about your kind of business, and let you edit them. Each question is then sent to Claude (Anthropic) with live web search, without your business name. We record whether the assistant recommended you, only mentioned you, or left you out, with the quote that shows it, plus who else was recommended and which pages were cited.
Recommended in X of Y answers is the headline: Y is the number of valid answers (a question that failed or could not be classified is left out, never counted as a miss) and X is how many of them put your business forward as a provider. We also show how many answers cited your own website. There is no composite score, no invented weights and no aggregate ranking; where an answer gives an ordered list we show your position in that answer only.
No. The free check tests one assistant, Claude, through its API with web search. Other assistants, and even the same assistant on another day or with different wording, can answer differently. Treat the result as a snapshot with evidence, not as a measurement of all AI search. Our monthly service repeats a fixed question set across several assistants so you can see a trend.
Yes. Every answer lists who was recommended, in the order given, and separately who was only mentioned, named as a source or given as a caveat. The comparison table counts recommendations across the same questions and the same number of valid answers for every business, including yours.
Rank tracking reports the position of your page for a keyword on a results page. An AI answer is one written reply that names a few businesses, often drawing on review sites, directories and articles rather than your own site. Checking AI visibility means reading whether you are named, in what role, how you are described and which sources led there.
A growing share of buyers ask an assistant for a shortlist before they open a results page. If you are not in that shortlist, those buyers do not see you, whatever your website ranks. Being named, and described accurately, puts you in front of them while they are choosing.
The report ends with three next steps, each starting with how to verify it. A missing recommendation does not by itself prove a missing listing, a review problem or a website issue, so we check before we act. In general, assistants lean on sources they can read and trust: consistent business details, recent reviews, listings on the sites your report shows being cited, and clear, original pages that answer buyer questions. Google’s own guidance is that ordinary SEO fundamentals apply to its AI features; no special file or markup guarantees inclusion.
Your report lives at a private, unguessable link that is kept out of search engines. If you ask us to email it, we send the summary and the link to that address and nothing else unless you tick the box for tips. A results review is a 30-minute call where we open your report together; it is not a sales sequence.
